About Wafia Kinne
 
Wafia Kinne received a Bachelors degree in Music from Walla Walla University and a Master of Music degree from Andrews University. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Washington State Music Teachers Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She attends local as well as regional educational opportunities, reads professional publications, and participates in local piano teacher organizations.
 
Wafia began teaching piano lessons during her college years and now has nearly 30 years experience teaching all ages and skill levels. Her objective is to develop the musical potential of each student and help them become life long learners and lovers of music.  Lessons are tailored to the individual interests and abilities of the student while providing a well-balanced curriculum including repertoire, technique, practice skills, theory,ear training and performance. In addition to weekly lessons, students attend several group lessons throughout the year. Two recitals are offered per year with additional performance opportunities in the WA State Auditions, National Guild Auditions and Musicfest Northwest.
 
Currently Wafia is on the piano faculty at Whitworth University where she has been teaching for the past twelve years. She is active in her church as music leader and accompanist, as well as accompanying in other local churches.  Music has always been a joy in her life and she hopes to instill this love for music in her students.
